Police tell the paper that a passenger who owned the Explorer got out to help the woman and that’s when the driver of the SUV fled along with the vehicle.

Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner said the elderly woman was alert when paramedics took her to the hospital after the accident.

The accident happened near Produce Junction and Joe’s Pizza on York Road.

On August 30 of this year two young children were struck by a car while crossing York Road in Warminster less than a mile away.

Nearby police in Upper Moreland found the SUV but police are still searching for the person who was driving it.
