Plans Announced for Former Pizza Hut Location

Wells Fargo which owns two Northampton Wachovia locations is planning to do what many American’s are doing consolidating.

The two bank branches are planned to combine at a new location in the Richboro section of Northampton Township in Crossroads Plaza where the old Pizza Hut stands now.

Last Wednesday the Northampton Board of Supervisors approved the plan with the stipulation that the traffic flow exiting the proposed bank and existing shopping center would have to be changed.

The proposed Wachovia location would require the Pizza Hut to be knocked down and a 4,000 sq. foot bank put in its place.

Kimco Properties which owns the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center and 1,465 other retail properties across the United States would have to improve the intersection of Second Street Pike and Crossroads Plaza Drive which has been plagued by traffic problems for many years.

The former Richboro Pizza Hut was closed in 2006 after six employees were fired and a Bucks County Health Department investigation launched after reports of employees defecating in the pizza sauce.

An inspection by the county yielded no violations but the 15 day closure of the Pizza Hut and a bad public image of the location lead to the restaurant being shutdown.
