We cover the following communities in Bucks and Montgomery Counties: Hatboro, Upper Southampton, Richboro, Northampton, Feasterville, Lower Moreland, Ivyland, Willow Grove, Bryn Athyn, Trevose, Upper Moreland, Warminster and Lower Southampton.

Our hope is that this website will because your one stop from everything about the communities listed above. Our commitment to you is to keep you informed and get you involved in the stories/events that effect the towns you live and work in.

First I would like to introduce you to our wonderful staff.

Maura McCormick - Maura’s interest in journalism was sparked by former Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Clark DeLeon during an introductory journalism class at Montgomery County Community College. Since then she has attended Villanova University and freelanced for The Intelligencer, Times Publishing, Inc., and Examiner.com. Aside from writing, Maura enjoys spending time in the kitchen, cooking for her family. (mmccormick@buxmontnews.com)

Tom Sofield – From the time Tom was young he strived to be a journalist whether it was playing “reporter” in the neighborhood or riding his bike to see where the fire trucks were going getting the story is in his blood. He is currently working toward getting his journalism degree. He enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his girlfriend, watching TV, and exploring cities. (tsofield@buxmontnews.com)

Jeffrey Bohen -I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and Currently reside in the Central Bucks Copunty Area.

I have a number of hobbies and or interests that I am actively involved in. I love to write and have had several articles published on the web and in newsletters dealing with issues surrounding recovery from behavioral health and co-occurring issues. I am currently involved in the development and writing of a concept "Rock Oprea" hopefully to be recorded in Spring 2011.

I want to report on issues about the community, that affect members of it, and seek to be a public affairs reporter with the end goal of attending Law School

I read plenty, love polemics, watch Jon Stewart nightly for comedy relief, and I am NY sports fan

Drink plenty of coffee, single no children (maybe someday?), and seek to complete my BA in Journalism from Temple Fall of 2011

I am very involved in the Recovery Community of Bucks County. (JBohen@buxmontnews.com)

Our website has some interesting features including FREE classifieds where you can post your ad or respond to someone else’s for free!

Another great free feature is our local events calendar, where registered members can post local community events for everyone to see.

Also on our navigation bar at the top you may notice SeeClickFix which is a very interesting tool, used to get issues in your community noticed by those in power. SeeClickFix lets citizens report public works issues such as potholes, graffiti, and wayward trash directly from their Computers/iPhones. Citizens can create watch lists to follow what’s being reported in a particular area, comment and vote up or down other issue reports and get ‘Civic Points’ for their participation.

Remember to stick with us over the next few weeks as we begin to add news videos and settle in our new surroundings. Also comments, feedback and news tips are always welcome at news@buxmontnews.com.

Also “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter.

Thank you and enjoy the ride.
